The returning veterans were chosen for their unique personalities, with high hopes of making another deep run—but one player quickly proved to be on an entirely different level. Zirene controlled the season through manipulation, painting targets, spreading lies, and consistently getting her way. Austin became an early casualty after emerging as a personal threat to Zirene, while Brooke was quickly sniped after her social game and intimidating presence made her another dangerous obstacle. Veterans like Eden and Evie fought desperately for redemption, but by the time their paths opened up, they had already been outplayed. Newbie Lukas became one of the season's loudest and most vocal presences, constantly finding himself in the crosshairs, while Yume, returning for her third appearance after Seasons 2 and 3, once again became a major force in the game. Just when it looked like Yume was about to claim the crown, Zirene pulled off the move that changed Big Sister history. She manipulated Yume into evicting Shout, securing her victory and becoming the franchise's first two-time winner. Had Yume simply voted to evict Zirene instead, she would have walked away with a unanimous victory. Paradise Hotel belonged to Zirene—but Yume came closer than anyone to stopping her.
